First Green Belt Workshop

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Workshop

fkiQuality delivered the first Lean Six Sigma Green Belt workshop in Chicago.

Responding to the needs of hundreds of professionals seeking to become Green Belt certified, fkiQuality developed and conducted a certification workshop that simulates the process, rigors and expectations of a real-world Green Belt project.

In its present version, the workshop is part of a Lean Six Sigma Certification Program where participants attend a traditional course on the subject of DMAIC problem-solving, pass a multiple-choice exam and then apply what they have learned to solve a number of operational problems for a simulated company.

The company case used in the 3-day workshop presents would-be Green Belts with sales, procurement, production, delivery and customer service challenges. Each participant chooses a problem to solve in the value chain applying the thinking, methods and tools of Lean Six Sigma to produce a solution.

During three demanding days, participants follow a proprietary problem-solving route based on DMAIC and Deming principles for operational excellence. At the end, they produce a 20+ pages project report that is graded by master coaches of the Chicago Deming Association.

Upon approval of the project report – which may require a revision or two, the participant receives a certification diploma recognizing them as Lean Six Sigma Green Belts.

As a testament to the care and dedication of instructors, coaches and participants alike, all 22 participants got certified within a week from completing the workshop.
